West African ministers at SFIVET

Lausanne, 24. June 2016 – Following the International VPET Congress in Winterthur, the Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (SFIVET) was commissioned by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) to receive a West African delegation led by the Minister of Vocational Training, Apprenticeship and Crafts from Senegal and the Minister Youth, Training and Professional Integration from Burkina Faso.

At SFIVET’s campus in Lausanne, delegation members were given a presentation of SFIVET’s role and particularly those carried out by the Basic Training and Continuing Training Division and the Centre for the Development of Occupations. In addition, concrete options for development of joint cooperation between the SDC and SFIVET were discussed. The delegation also visited a school of construction in Tolochenaz and the packaging machine manufacturer Bobst in Mex.

The delegation was comprised of representatives Benin, Burkina Faso, Chad, Haiti, Rwanda, Senegal and Tanzania.
