The objective of this research field is to understand how best to integrate each learner into the vocational education and training system. The purpose of research projects is to identify and promote better teaching and learning conditions.
We are particularly interested in the development of the occupational identities of learners. In this regard, the research focuses on the factors and conditions that influence occupational integration - to pinpoint the various aspects that can either encourage or hinder occupational identification (e.g. the prestige of an occupation; working and apprenticeship conditions; work activities; and social relations at the workplace).
A further objective is to take into account the diversity of learners and study the associated inequalities during training (related to, e.g., migration, gender and disability). The research focuses on how diversity is handled within the different learning locations and what conditions favour recognition and equality.
