Joint training program “Management of Vocational Training Centers” of ILO, SFIVET and GIZ

Turin, 28 February 2020 – The International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITCILO), the Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (SFIVET) and the Academy for International Cooperation of the GIZ (AIZ/GIZ) joined forces to organize a one-week training course “Management of vocational training Centers”.

The "Management of vocational training centers” course took place from 17 February – 21 February at the ITCILO campus in Turin and gathered about 30 participants from various countries all over the world.

It provided insights into a systemic management approach and discussed the practical concepts and skills needed to prepare the vocational training Centers to face the challenges of the future of work.

The development of a holistic understanding of the management of vocational training centers is a main objective of the program with a particular focus on:

  • The strategic management of a vocational training Centre;
  • Responsiveness of a vocational training Centre to labour market needs;
  • PPPs and the relationship between vocational training Centres and industry;
  • Vocational training Centres’ financial sustainability: autonomy and self-financing

Representatives of the international affairs and of the research and development department of SFIVET actively contributed with lecturers and workshops.
