Innovative learning environment at Swisscom

Learners at Swisscom undergo workplace training in the form of projects lasting anywhere from one day to six months. An explorative case study conducted by SFIVET shows that learners are satisfied with this radically different form of training. Learners seem to be thorough in their thinking and feel well-prepared for life after training. At Swisscom, there is a general conviction that learners can already be entrusted with a great deal: they are able to work independently, are allowed to make mistakes, can take responsibility and seek advice when encountering difficulties. The structural preconditions for this model are the workplace trainer, the project platform ‘Marketplace’, a flexible working structure and eye-to-eye communication.
