With youth unemployment in Slovakia of around 30%, the project aimed to reform the VET-system of Slovakia to better gear VET towards the country’s labor market. In 6 fields curricula have been updated, 20 schools participated and collaborated with companies while more than 250 young people attended the dual training programs.
Ambassador Wittwer stated that “we are happy that Switzerland was at the beginnings of the change and had chance to support the changes which led to the adjustment of the system of vocational education and to the introduction of dual education in Slovakia”.
Mr. Erik Swars from SFIVET emphasized the importance to involve companies and thanked all experts and partners that have contributed to the success of the project especially SIOV (Slovakian State Institute for VET) for the excellent collaboration. Several experts of SFIVET contributed to the project with their expertise in curricula development and teachers training.
