2018 Update of the European Inventory on the Validation of Non-Formal and Informal Learning for Switzerland
Working with the European Commission, the European Centre for the Develop-ment of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP) directs and publishes a biannual inven-tory of European practices in the validation of non-formal and informal learning. SFIVET has received a mandate to carry out the 2018 update of the inventory for Switzerland as was done previously for the 2016 and 2014 inventory updates. The aim is to produce a country report answering a series of questions on five pre-selected topics.
Working with the European Commission, the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP) directs and publishes a biannual inventory of European practices in the validation of non-formal and informal learning. Each country, including Switzerland, contributes to this by producing an inventory of its own practices.
SFIVET has received a mandate to carry out the 2018 update of the inventory for Switzerland as was done previously for the 2016 and 2014 inventory updates.
The work will entail two activities:
- Draft (update) a ‘country report’ based on a predefined structure
- Draft (update) a ‘country factsheet’ based on a predefined table
- Contribute to ‘thematic reports’: five topics/questions have been selected:
- How social partners and other labour-market related stakeholders are involved in validation arrangements
- Bridging the gap: How validation can create pathways between sectors
- How digital forms of assessment and self-assessment may create new challenge and opportunities for assessment methodologies
- The role of validation as an upskilling pathway for low qualified workers
- Validation and migrants/refugees
