SFIVET as a partner for VET-related matters in China

On Saturday, 13 May 2017, SFIVET signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) in the presence of Doris Leuthard, President of the Swiss Confederation. With this MoU, SFIVET has managed to position itself as an expert organisation in China in the field of skills development.

There is considerable interest in China for the Swiss system of vocational and professional education and training (VPET). The Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (SFIVET) presented the Swiss VPET system at the 17th annual conference  organised by the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE). As a nationwide not-for-profit organisation, the CEAIE promotes international exchange and cooperation among actors of higher education and  technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in China. SFIVET is pleased to have been selected as the partner of choice for further development of China’s own TVET system.

On Saturday evening, 13 May 2017, Mr. Zong Wa, Deputy Secretary-General of the CEAIE and Dr. Philippe Gnaegi, Chairman of the SFIVET Board, signed an MoU in the presence of the President of the Swiss Confederation, Doris Leuthard, for more extensive cooperation.

The overarching objective of future cooperation is to improve teaching and research in China in the area of skills development. In addition to the regular exchange of information and mobility programmes, Switzerland and China will also develop training programmes covering various aspects of skills development. A working group will decide on specific measures to be taken in this direction.
